Updated 2017 Recommendations!
There are significant differences in Spray On Car Waxes that make some brands better than others.
The Spray Wax products I have Listed here are Highly-Rated by automobile experts and receive the highest customer review ratings.
Which is Best -Natural Carnauba or Polymer Spray Wax?
Traditional Carnauba car wax is rendered from Brazilian fan palm (Copernicia prunifera) leaves that exude the yellowish wax.
Carnauba car wax will produce a deep shine and provides great protection but isn’t as chemically compatible with modern high-tech paint finishes as the polymer spray on car wax products. That doesn’t mean they will harm your paint. It means that Carnauba wax doesn’t bond as well with the newer clear coat finishes according to some experts. Yet, some car detailing experts claim that Carnauba waxes give a better shine and better/longer UV protection than polymer.
Polymer is defined as “a chemical compound composed of small molecules arranged in a simple repeating structure to form a single larger molecule.” Polymer Spray Wax products work really great on the most contemporary paint finishes.
I have used Carnauba Spray On Car Wax products for many years with great results but I have switched to Polymer waxes.
Applying Polymer waxes generally requires about the same effort as traditional Carnauba spray on waxes.
Some of the Best Spray on Car Waxes combine both ingredients.
My Personal Favorite Spray On Car Wax Products!
I was using Meguiar’s G7716 Gold Class Carnauba Plus and I highly recommend it but now I prefer the new Meguiar’s G17516 Ultimate Hydrophobic Polymer Wax.
Of the less familiar brands – Lucas Oil, Griot’s Garage, and Chemical Guys are spray on waxes developed by professional car detailers that you should seriously consider.
