Choosing the BEST BUFFER for Your CAR, Truck, or Boat – Helpful Tips and Recommendations!
DIY Auto Detailing has become more and more popular. An electric power Buffer is by far the best way to Polish or Buff out the finish of a Car, Truck, Boat, etc. Considering how much a quality paint job costs it only makes good sense to buy the Best Buffer for your Car or whatever vehicle you intend to detail.
The market has become flooded with cheap Car Buffers or Polishers. Some of them work great for the occasional polishing job and if that is all you are expecting there is no need to spend hundreds for a pro-quality Car Buffer. And paying a high price doesn’t assure you are getting the Best Buffer for your Car.
I am as price conscious as the next guy but when it comes to tools I have always been willing to pay a little more to get a quality tool that will do the best job and will last so I won’t have to replace it anytime soon.
How to Use a Power Buffer on your Car Buffer!
No matter which Car Buffer you choose just remember that buffing or polishing your car with a power buffer can do a lot of damage very quickly if you are not careful. Buffing or polishing is all about rubbing an abrasive on your car’s expensive paint job for the purpose of removing scratches and oxidation. If done incorrectly you can remove paint right down to primer or bare metal…Ouch!
Go easy on the pressure and don’t dwell in the same spot. Try and apply buffing evenly to avoid buffing the paint too thin.
I highly recommend that your read the Owner’s Manual of your new buffer before using. Also take a few minutes to watch this tutorial Car Buffing Video.

Car Buffer RECOMMENDATIONS!
My personal experience has been that Makita generally makes one of the most rugged and longest lasting electric power tools. Dewalt makes some excellent non-pro tools. Bosch and Porter Cable also get high marks.
If your a Professional Car Detailer I recommend that you go with a Makita. Makita has a long established reputation for professional quality power tools.
If you are a DIY Car Detailer and only expect to buff your vehicle a few times then the Bosch or Porter Cable will do just as good a job as the more expensive brands and save you some bucks.
