I am certain you love your pet bird or birds as much as I love mine. You want the safest bird toys available to protect them as well as to satisfy their natural desire to play, forage, chew, etc.

A bird “toy” can mean a lot of different things to a bird. A toy can be a source of exercise, comfort, companionship, stress relief, etc.
Not all Bird Toys are Safe!
I have learned the hard way that not all bird toys are safe. Many bird toys are constructed with toxic materials that can harm or even kill your dear pet bird.
I purchased a bird toy the other month that seemed OK. It was a type of swing in the shape of a triangle that was wrapped with different colored rope twine. It appeared to be well made and safe.
After hanging it near my bird’s cages (I own 4 parrots) and coming back to check on them a few hours later I discovered the rope twine was coming unraveled from my birds chewing on them. Fortunately I removed it before one of my birds became entangled. It could have cost a precious life!
I notified the seller immediately and to their credit they did recall the toy and discontinued selling it.
I wonder how many beloved pet birds may have been injured or strangled by that toy??
